Vivra is Welsh by birth, English by upbringing, and Texan by marriage. Her Celtic background influenced by the magical and mysterious county of Lancashire in England, fueled her imagination.
Music (her mother was a dancer) art (her father was a professional photographer) and being surrounded by books encouraged her creativity.
In school, Vivra studied creative writing. Interior design was studied at Southport College (Southport, England) along with Textile Design.
After training as an executive secretary and working with the manager of a chain of theaters in the north of England, Vivra moved south to Brize Norton in Oxfordshire and became an art teacher with the American Dependent School System, where she met Ed, now her husband. She lives with him in the East Texas Piney Woods.
Vivra's first story, written when she was seven--a Nancy Drew-type mystery--was rejected by a then popular children's magazine. She concentrated on her art, until several years later, she attempted another young adult mystery, that is currently being updated, edited, and made ready for submission.
Vivra is currently working on a full-length paranormal novel for young adults, set in Lancashire involving alleged witches and an alternate universe; basically a story of good versus evil, with comedy and a hint of romance. THE RAVENWOOD PORTAL
She also (though not often) writes poetry, some of which has been published in English magazines--and articles about cultural differences, published in the Overseas Daily Telegraph.
Vivra is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, and the East Texas Writer's Association.
